In this blog we interview Lt. General Russel Honoré, who led the federal response to Hurricane Katrina 20 years ago. While many local, state and federal leaders in charge during Katrina emerged with badly damaged reputations, Honoré became famous for getting stuff done and not mincing his words. Since retiring in 2008 he has taken that no-nonsense approach into environmental advocacy in Louisiana.

The Borrowed Earth Project was privileged to be able to conduct an interview with biologist and ecologist Xavier Tobin about the work he has been doing in Amazonia: and to relay the short interview that he did on our behalf with a member of one of the forest communities, Akilles do N. de Lima.

In March 2023 the United Nations convened 10,000 participants in a landmark conference on water and SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation. We wanted to find out more about the participation by young people in the critical debates on water and SDG 6, so we managed to contact Clara Brown, the Contact Point for the YOUNGO Water and Climate Working Group, who kindly answered some of our questions.
